AUDITIONS for OVER THE TAVERN by Tom Dudzick
In that most idealized period of 20th-century America, the Eisenhower years of the 1950s, the Pazinski family has a lot going on in their cramped Buffalo apartment. The youngest of the bunch, 12-year-old Rudy, is a smart, wise-cracking kid who’s starting to question family values and the Roman Catholic Church. When Rudy goes up against the ruler-wielding Sister Clarissa and announces that instead of being confirmed he’d rather shop around for a more “fun” religion, all hell breaks loose. A warm and hilarious look at family, growing up, and God.
Director Andrea Boswell ([email protected]) is looking for actors to fill the following roles:
Chet Pazinski – 40s, bartender, father of four, exhausted, in bad mood more often than not
Ellen Pazinski – early 40s. stay-at-home mom, attractive, worn out from her lot in life
Rudy Pazinski – 12, youngest of four, always in trouble at his parochial school
Georgie Pazinski – 13, developmentally disabled
Eddie Pazinski – 15, a tough little teenager
Annie Pazinski – 16, a binge eating sixteen year old who want to fit in
Sister Clarissa – 70ish, stereotypical aging, no nonsense parochial school teacher
Auditions will be held at Corbin Theatre Co., 15 N. Water Street, Liberty MO. at 7p.m. on December 17th and 18th. Cold readings will be done from the script.
