Laura Warren Barge has been a professional musician for over 30 years. After learning the classics at Benedictine University in Springfield, IL, she traveled to Boston, MA to finish her degree at Berklee College of Music in the late 1980’s. While attending Berklee she fell in love with the the more contemporary forms of music. Jazz, Adult Contemporary and Rhythm & Blues are her favorites, but she love most forms of modern Americana music (past 100 years).
Laura started her career as the featured vocalist for LIME STREET CAFE in Springfield, IL, where she sang weekly (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) with Greg James as her accompanist. She joined her first touring band, BLACK AND BLUE from Greensboro, NC in the early 1990’s and fell in love with the road. She has a list of great bands that became part of her music family… AFTER HOURS from Cordele, Ga; A.B.S. from Springfield, MO; LEGACY from Ozark, MO; CRUZIN’ from Alton, IL; and X-FACTOR based out of the St. Louis area.
Laura is so excited to be a part of the Corbin Theatre 2017 Season and is thrilled to introduce some local artists to perform along beside her for this Corbin Hosted Event. She will be featuring Scott Rohrs on guitar, Kathi Hughes on vocals, Karrie Snider on vocals, Georgia Barge on Vocals and piano. They will be performing songs from the 40’s up the the 2000’s. We know you will enjoy this show that will be held at Belvoir Winery in Liberty, MO.
