A Triumph of the Spirit is a musical story about Harriet Tubman, written and directed by Shirley E. Oglesby Smith Johnson.
All proceeds go toward ATOTS Scholarship Fund.
Breathtakingly authentic, heartbreakingly sincere, and full of wittiness—this is a performance that enlightens, inspires, and empowers all at once. Spectators share the life, trials, and tribulations of Harriet Tubman, as Shirley Johnson brings the character to life. Shirley uses humor and powerful heartfelt drama in this rendition of a mature, yet witty and vibrant Harriet Tubman. She narrates stories from Harriet Tubman’s childhood, adolescence, and young womanhood. This semi-musical aptly illustrates the trials and tribulations that enhanced Harriet’s faith and solidified her life’s purpose.
